Imagine a world
Without poetry
A world where
Words don't pierce
The soft flesh of the heart
And don't pick at the brain
Where music is just noise
And song lyrics
Are brittle words
Are brittle words
Clinging worthlessly
To the lines on a page
Where hands don't clap
And fingers don't snap
Where the mind
Is simply idle and ordinary
And eyes are closed windows
That refuse to reflect the soul
Of a person
Imagine a world where
Emotion plays no role
Nothing to make us angry
No tears
No crying
No one to love
No one to remember
Nothing to smile about
Now imagine everyone dead
This is life
This is the world
